Information Sent Directly
A name, phone number, or address entered into a search box is sent to the third-party provider that supplies the requested results. The site’s own servers do not retain a copy of those searches. If a visitor sends a message, the content of that message and the reply address are used to respond.
Automatic Technical Data
Ordinary hosting logs can record an IP address, browser type, pages requested, and time of a request. That information is reviewed in aggregate for site operation, error diagnosis, and general traffic measurement. Cookies or comparable technology may support basic analytics and, where used, advertising measurement.
How Information Is Used
Limited technical information helps operate, secure, and improve the service and measure use of its pages. Visitor lists are not sold, and the site does not create individual visitor profiles from its server logs.
External Websites
Links may lead to Franklin County, Ohio, library, archival, and third-party services. Their terms and privacy practices control any information submitted on those destinations. That includes sponsored search results, which are supplied by another company.
Who Can Process Data
Hosting and service providers may process logs while providing their services. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above. Information may also be disclosed when a valid legal process requires it.
Data Safeguards
The service uses an encrypted connection. Logs are retained only for the operational purposes described here. Because visitors do not create accounts, the site does not hold visitor passwords or account profiles.
Visitors Under 18
The service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. Personal information from a person under 18 is not knowingly collected. If a parent or guardian believes that a minor has sent information through a message, they may use the Contact page to request deletion.
Privacy Choices and Ohio Law
Visitors may ask about information held in the contact mailbox or applicable server logs through the Contact page. Ohio has no broad CCPA- or GDPR-style universal consumer privacy right requiring data-broker registration, deletion, or a universal opt-out. The Ohio Data Protection Act, ORC 1354.02, creates a voluntary cybersecurity safe harbor. It is not a consumer right to delete public records. Official records held by Norwich Township, Franklin County, or Ohio custodians are outside this private service’s control; requests about them belong with the actual custodian.
Policy Changes
